My car was damaged on 3/10. It took 3 weeks to get the estimate done. The service department had zero communication with me and anytime I stopped there nobody knew anything. They told my insurance my car would be ready in 4 days after the estimate which was received on 4/2. I stopped in on 4/10 and they had not even started working on my car. I called on the 17th to see what the progress was. I was told it should be ready the 21st or 22nd. I was told multiple times that the service depart would call or Tex me. But that never happened. The lack of communication and the length of time it took to repair my car was very frustrating and stressful.

y review on Kemna Motors is not good. To understand my concerns, I must lay out the scenario that happened to lead me to a poor review. I had accidentally hit a raccoon with my wife’s 2021 GMC terrain. The impact caused a check engine light to come on. My wife took the car in to Kenma to have the check engine light looked at. She was told it was a cooling fan error and was told all she needed was an oil change. They cleared the code and sent her on her way. The code was back on before she got home. I opened the hood and saw the radiator up against the engine block. That was obviously causing the cooling fan error, it couldn’t spin. This is a huge red flag. The technician read the code, knew what it was, and only changed the oil. That technician had to open the hood to fill the oil in the oil change. I am completely baffled on how this was over looked. This is the first red flag. I investigated the radiator and fan. I found that the radiator was bowed, with mounts broken. I also found the intercooler with the same damage with broken mounts and hanging loosely. I took the vehicle to Kenma Motors. I told them that I hit a raccoon and told them the damage done to the radiator and intercooler. I asked them to give an estimate to fix the damage and anything else I may not have been able to see. They took the car for an hour before coming back to tell me there was no damage to the car. This is now the second red flag. I told them again about the damage and to go back and investigate for an accurate estimate. A half hour later they came back with a video of a “master technician” spinning the fan of the radiator. This was the third red flag. I had to identify exactly where to look for a “master technician” to see the damage. I am not a trained mechanic. I should not have to tell a “master technician” how to inspect a vehicle. Against my better judgment I still went with Kenma to fix the damage. I am completely confident there is probably more damage, but the mechanics are probably too incompetent to identify.

They were empathetic during a difficult situation and went above and beyond to ensure we didn’t leave with any animosity toward the dealership or the GM/Chevy brand. They truly put themselves in the customer’s shoes and ask, “How would I want to be treated if I experienced a major breakdown through no fault of my own?” From service advisor Marc Plumb, to dealership owner Carey Kemna, to GM representative Kaylene Jackson, everyone worked with us every step of the way. In the end, not only were we made whole, but we also regained confidence in the vehicle and the GM/Chevy brand. We would absolutely recommend the Kemna dealership.
